Patience
After rediscovering my voice
And learning how to swing it with a force that plucks out all irreverence while providing a cushioned floor for it to land on
I peeped my purpose cutting a corner
on the sidewalk of time
I followed it
It swayed a little at first
Aware of its talent but unable to progress to its full potential It focused on others
Well, on their responses to it’s movements
It lost that feeling dance gave it
Those fireworks that pop and sizzle in your stomach
That lifting of weight that for too long resides on your chest
That rush of endorphins filling your body with the purest form of joy
She withered for a little while
Stuck in the middle of that sidewalk
Watching people pedestrian walk, glisade, pique turn by her.
The absence of a passion in life is what truly makes it bitter and cold.
I know that now.
I ran after my purpose and gave it the biggest bear hug you could imagine
We stood there in the middle of New York spinning
And smiling
And laughing
That feeling, is what keeps me going day after day. Thank you purpose for finding me again.
