The Hate U Give

This was by far one of the best books I have read this year ...and I read a lot of books. The Hate U Give follows the story of Starr Carter, who lives in a poor black neighborhood, but goes to school at a white private school. Her life is divided between the two places, and when she witnesses a terrible event, those two worlds begin to converge. This book told the story of so many people, and introduced others to a topic that might have been foreign to them. Angie Thomas does a brilliant job of explaining the uniqueness, as well as the normalcy of Starr’s life.
