Hello, my name is Jane Li and I'm from Brooklyn, NY. This painting is called "Fatal Attraction", and it is acrylic on canvas. This painting is inspired by my personal experiences and stories I've heard from others. Being at home has given me the opportunity to reflect often. I love to use a lot of colors, always. Whether to express emotions or create a secret meaning. I think it's super fun to pair colors together you never think would work together. More is more.

This piece presents a farewell between two people. Sometimes, along our journey in life we meet people that deeply affect us but aren't meant to stay in our lives. Saying goodbye or moving on without saying goodbye hurts, especially if all you think about are the "what ifs". Despite that, I believe there's beauty to that conflict. Every person we meet and have experiences with enriches us in some way. There's lessons to learn that helps us understand what our heart truly needs. I hope anyone who resonates with this piece gains a bit more courage to find what that is regardless of the pain they still carry.
