(4.17.2020) My Cuba Collection by Madeleine Miller

While I was in Cuba with my family for 10 days, I documented what I saw around me. It was all completely new to me. Cuba feels like it has been stopped in time. All of the cars are older than 1959, the year Fidel Castro came to power and banned importing cars. This was my first time in a communist country, where families get their monthly amount of eggs, milk, beans, and more. Everyone uses the black market to get the  amounts they actually need. I have never experienced anything like my time in Cuba and I hope you can see some of that in these photos. When we were driving, there were cars, horses, and horse and buggies. We also passed someone driving a tractor on the main road. We saw a horse and buggy with CD’s taped to the back to serve as reflectors.
